Rapinoe was able to continue her winning ways as a sophomore becoming one of the nation's top scorers, scoring ten goals; however her season was cut short because of a knee injury. In 2007, she suffered similar injuries, ending her season in just two matches. Rapinoe who had recovered from the injury in 2007, assisted Pilots record a 20-0 mark.

While she was born in Portland but her family lived during the early years of her life in Boring. In Boring, they had an organic honey farm, despite her aversion to bees.
